Island Origins

In an internationally focused world, one’s love of home is an unseen force that commands a certain hold over many expatriates across countries and continents. Despite the opportunities that present themselves across seas and state lines, very little compares to the solace of home. ‘Island Origins’ is a documentary piece based in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, encapsulating how spending time away from one’s home in foreign lands helps an individual reflect on the beauty and uniqueness of their origin. Within the film, we explore the stories of a varied cast; a marine tour guide, a crofter, a music teacher, a painter, and a musician couple, and how living in the Outer Hebrides has affected them.
